[Beta Testing]
SAT/ACT English Prep
Standardized testing is ridiculous.
So is this website. 😂
But it might actually help. 🎉
Try it out.
Let's tackle our first problem below:

"Fluffy and pink,   ___________ pranced through the meadow."
(Scroll down below below for explanation)

Once upon a time, I took the PSAT and got a horrible score. I realized I was up a river of crud -- no one was coming to save me. I fixed things: just learn the grammar rules and apply them.

It’s faster than doing a million practice problems and probably more entertaining. So, save yourself some time and a river of crud.

Here, have a cookie. Think about what fun stuff you want to do when this is over.

Now let's review that practice example...

The Unicorn Rule

What's up with this sentence?

As a reminder, the sentence is:

🎉  Fluffy and pink,   ___________ pranced through the meadow.

----------------------------------------------------

The fancy pants term for this grammar rule the test is testing for in this sentence called a misplaced modifier (who cares). Instead, just look for a few describing words and a comma to alert you that this is the grammar rule being tested. For example:

Ex 1: Pretty and pink, the kitty..
Ex 2: Fluffy and warm, the poodle…
Ex 3: Fuzzy and floofiest, the sheep…

As soon as you see this trend, ask yourself if the word after the comma is the description.

Let's take a look at some potential answers...

As a reminder, the sentence is:

Fluffy and pink,   ___________ pranced through the meadow.

Were you pink? Probably.
Was the pony?
Definitely.

The answer is C, the pony. 🎉  🎉
